Commercial Account Assistant

Job Summary:

The Commercial Account Assistant performs the essential functions of the position, which include aiding Commercial Lines CSR’s with service needs and making changes to existing accounts. Meets service delivery standards and performs essential functions to the quality and service standards developed by the agency.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepares summaries of insurance, schedules and proposals as needed for account review.
  • Verifies policy and policy change information, facilitating corrections when necessary.
  • Processes incoming email requests, responding promptly and appropriately.
  • Processes clients' requests for certificates and driver ID cards
  • Verifies new policies, renewal policies and endorsements received from carriers, verifying accuracy; facilitating corrections when necessary.
  • Processes license bonds.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High school degree. Some college classes or equivalent insurance experience is desired.
  • Ability to communicate orally, in writing, and by email with others to explain complex issues, receive and interpret complex information, and respond appropriately.
  • Basic, and increasing, knowledge of insurance products and usages.
  • Ability to utilize computer programs and understand functionality
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
